NLP TRAINING Standards

The NLP Association of Asia Pacific Inc. (NLPAA) is committed to upholding and ensuring adherence to global standards within the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. By following the training requirements and ethical guidelines set by the NLP global body, the NLPAA guarantees that its members meet internationally recognized benchmarks of excellence. This adherence not only enhances the credibility and quality of NLP practice among our members but also fosters trust and consistency in NLP methodologies worldwide. Our rigorous commitment to these standards supports our mission to maintain integrity, professionalism, and effectiveness across all aspects of NLP training and practice.

The NLP Association of Asia Pacific Inc. is a member of the NLP Global Body, the international body supporting consistent standards for Neuro Linguistic Programming training and certification. The NLPAA subscribes to the training and ethical standards of the NLP Global Body and is committed to maintaining high standards for NLP certification training across the Asia Pacific region.

NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner Certification training may be delivered in person, live online, or through a combination of both, provided the training meets NLPAA requirements for live, interactive learning, supervised practice, assessment and training duration.

Live online training must provide a comparable learning experience to in-person training, with participants and trainers engaging together in real time. Pre-recorded videos, reading, self-directed learning and other asynchronous activities may support the training, but do not replace the required live training and practice hours.

NLP Certification Training Requirements

 NLP Practitioner 

 Training is conducted over a minimum of 7 days
 Includes at least 56 hours of live, trainer-led training
 Includes a minimum of 120 total learning hours
 Live training may be delivered in-person, live online, or through a combination of both
 Additional learning may include reading, videos, practice groups, exercises and assessments
 Training covers the content and competency requirements for NLP Practitioner Certification

 NLP Master Practitioner 

 Training is conducted over a minimum of 9 days
 Includes at least 72 hours of live, trainer-led training
 Includes a minimum of 120 total learning hours
 Live training may be delivered in-person, live online, or through a combination of both
 Additional learning may include reading, videos, practice groups, exercises and assessments
 Training covers the content and competency requirements for NLP Master Practitioner Certification

 NLP Trainer 

 Training is conducted in-person over a minimum of 14 days 
 Includes at least 90 hours of in-person, trainer-led training
 Includes a minimum of 130 total learning hours
 Training covers the content and competency requirements for NLP Trainer Certification

NLP Master Practitioner Certification

The trainer and and training need to meet the above criteria for NLP Master Practitioner Certification and students will be able to demonstration of ability to identify the following basic skills, techniques, patterns and concepts of NLP and to utilise them competently with self and others:


  • Integration, mastery & elegance of NLP Practitioner Skills
  • Ability to manage one's own state
  • Ability to do change work with self and others
  • Precision and resourcefulness through all representational systems

  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport
  • Modelling - elicitation, replication, utilisation & transfer

NLP Trainer Certification

The trainer and and training need to meet the above criteria for NLP Trainer Certification and students will be able to demonstration of ability to identify the following basic skills, techniques, patterns and concepts of NLP and to utilise them competently with self and others:


  • Pacing and Leading
  • Design of Presentations
  • Delivery of Presentations using NLP skills
  • Building and maintaining Group Rapport
  • Ability to answer questions
  • Utilisation of spatial anchoring
  • Design and execution of evaluation methods

  • Design and execution of teaching exercises to provide covert and overt learning
  • Use of deep and shallow metaphors as a teaching aid
  • Demonstration of NLP processes and techniques while training
  • Demonstration of personal artistry to integrate the skills into one's own behaviour
